Fire Logistics is a local, family owned and operated company founded by Scott and Ashley Carter in 2000. Since then we have been helping individuals and families move their household belongings both locally and long distances. We have just as many years of experience performing installations of furniture to Universities, Colleges, Group Homes and Mental Health facilities. We started out as a part-time business while Scott was still a full time firefighter with the City of Durham Fire Department. He has since retired and we are 100% dedicated to our moving business. We are small enough in size that we can offer attentive customer service but experienced enough to handle any size job. For most people moving is only the tip of the iceberg. In addition to moving, we know that you are dealing with closings, tenants, new owners, old owners, address changes….etc. We know that you have a lot on your plate. It’s our job not only to safely and efficiently move you, but to take some of that pressure off allowing you to deal with everything else involved with your move. Because we have over 20 years of experience in the moving business, our equipment is paid for. You do not need to rent/pay for shipping pads, shrink wrap, carts, dollies, straps, tools, or any other equipment that may be required. We have it and do not charge for its use. At Fire Logistics we do not work from volume. We do not try to schedule 4 and 5 jobs each day. If we have a move job scheduled, our focus is only on that move. Our crew will be fresh and ready to work, taking care to pack, load, and unload your belongings as safely and efficiently as possible. Our crews consist of men and women that are friends or family. These are people that were "auditioned" on commercial jobs before they were allowed on personal moves. They have displayed a strong ability to work at our pace, safely and consistently. If they are not family then they have been to our home, met our family, and had a meal or two over the years with us. We would not bring someone into your home that we would not trust 100% in our own home. Speaking of home, ours is now in Alamance County and we are working to build relationships with individuals and businesses in this area. We sincerely hope that you will give us a try if you are ever in the market for a moving company. No job is too big or too small! We believe relationships are more important than cash and always strive to ensure our customers are happy in their new homes and with our services.
Our Rates: We can pack your entire home or load furniture and boxes you packed yourself. Our truck will hold an average 1,400 square-foot household with no problem. It takes three guys an average of three to four hours to load the truck and two to three hours to offload the truck. We charge by the hour and base the charge on the number of movers we send. If there are 3 movers it’s $170 an hour. This includes their labor, your truck rental, mileage and fuel. If we send four, it’s $215 per hour. Your move length in hours will be primarily determined by how prepared you are and the access we have to your furnishings as well as the volume of what we are moving. What we mean by that is that if you have 90% of your belongings at the top of a spiral staircase or if it’s a long walk from the truck to your door or we have to use a slow elevator or three flights of stairs or you are still deciding when we are there if you are taking certain pieces of furniture, it’s going to take us longer than average. If you would like to schedule your move with us simply send back the form and we will reach out to collect all the details from you.
