Look what we are planting this week....ok, just kidding, but it was fun to hear our customer telling us about creating these seed packets! The seed packets contain bachelor button flower seeds.

On Monday, I went to the Covington Farm and they gifted us feed sacks and some wonderful composted dirt to fill them with. Today, we brought them to the warehouse & planted potatoes in our bags. Many thanks to Tim & Doris Covington for supporting our garden.

We were very excited when our sign came in. We think it makes us look official. 😂Also, it’s been fun to meet neighbors as they walk down the sidewalk and are so curious about what we are doing.

We need a plumber!

Today after the Mebane Business Association meeting we stopped by and used a primitive method to water, the ole "turn the water bottle upside down" method. It worked for today, but we need a more sustainable method for the future. Any plumbers want to volunteer to replace a broken pipe in the building so we can have a close spigot to water the garden?

Today we made our QR code & sign to direct people who pass by to this blog. The goal is to list updates here as things start to sprout & mature. We have ordered a big banner for the side of the building but it's not here yet.

We can't help but notice our seeds are sprouting! The closest to the curly kale are micro greens, then a mixture of lettuce & spinach....
You may also notice a few peas sprouting on the trellis & the first ears of corn sprouting on the back row.

Our dilemma we need to work out this week is watering. We have 2 rain barrels that depend entirely on the rain to fill them. (I guess most of them do) lol! I will keep you posted!

We are so excited to have planted the garden on April 19th. In the front row, we sowed lettuce, kale, spinach, micro green & arugula seeds.
Our next row contains peppers- We have red, yellow & green bell peppers, Jalapeño peppers, & tomatoes.
On the trellis's we have yellow squash, cucumbers & snow peas.
Our back row id sunflowers & corn.
We also sprinkled some zinna seeds in the mix throughout the garden in hopes of some cutting flowers to share.
